If no action is done, the snow might disappear by 2050, leading to water source depletion, drought, subsequent famine and poverty in the region. It is committed as a nation to the UNFCCC’s goals, which include stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations at a level that would stop further hazardous human intervention with the climate system.

- To build human and infrastructural capacity on climate change mitigation through adaptation projects and training
- To create climate change awareness in the community through promoting free opinion and public debates on optimal mitigation strategies.
