The effects of climate change are expected to be severe in several important industries, including water, health, and agriculture. Globally, the effects of climate change will be seen, but in poorer nations with fewer resources for adaptation and coping, these effects will be felt more keenly.
“Pastoralists depend on their livestock for a living and thus the effects of climate change have a serious impact on their livelihoods. “
Over 70% of Tanzanians survive on subsistence agriculture; their livelihoods depend fully on rains. This means, lives therefore fail when the rains fail. These extremes of droughts and floods threaten the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable social groups of the community such as the poor, women, disabled and children. Tanzania is extremely susceptible to the effects of climate change due to its status as one of the least developed nations (LDCs).

"It is committed as a nation to the UNFCCC's goals, which include stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations at a level that would stop further hazardous human intervention with the climate system."
