ACC supported youth groups in vegetable farming by facilitating access to irrigation water from River Karanga through affordable pumping systems. The intervention equipped youth with practical horticultural skills, increased their vegetable yields, and significantly boosted household incomes.
Beyond production, the project encouraged young people to view agriculture as a viable livelihood option, reducing unemployment pressures and fostering agribusiness entrepreneurship among the youth. This experience provided ACC with proven models for integrating irrigation technology with youth empowerment.
